The Gardensmith's designer, Cathryn Smith, trained in garden design and horticulture at Pershore Horticultural College, having studied an HNC in Garden Design and the Royal Horticultural Society Advanced Certificate.  She also has a degree in Fine Art from the University of the Witswatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. Cathryn often lectures about Garden Design at Gardening Clubs. Currently working as a design consultant at The Lakes by YOO.

"I set up The Gardensmith 24 years ago and love creating beautiful outdoor spaces for my clients to enjoy. Over these 24 years I have come to realise how important a garden is to people's mental wellbeing and happiness. Having lived in South Africa for some years, I have experienced the pleasure of 'living outdoors' and now really enjoy bringing elements of that lifestyle to my clients' gardens".

For the past two year, Cathryn has been working as the Design Consultant at The Lakes by Yoo helping clients to create their gardens in this SSSI site, using only British native plants.

Based in Worcestershire in Evesham and covering all areas of The South Midlands and The Cotswolds.
